The Ětúpal̀ẹ Online Journal of African Studies is pleased to announce the second call for submissions. The theme of the first edition is:

"Understanding the African Experience: Development for the 21st Century"

Submission deadline is August 1st 2008.

                            Submissions have now closed for 2008.
           Our first volume will be available online in February 2009

 

About Ětúpal̀ẹ

Ětúpal̀ẹ is a Yoruba word meaning "in-depth investigation".

Ětúpal̀ẹ online Journal of African Studies has been formed to support and promote scholarly work from all academic disciplines that relate to Africa. Our principal aim is to provide an open platform for African scholars. Submissions from authors residing in sub continent Africa and South America are particularly encouraged. The journal will be published on-line once a year.

The journal invites articles from all disciplines including Linguistics, Psychology, Culture, Literary theory and Environmental Management.

Manuscript Submission

Guidelines for submitting articles for review:
  • Manuscripts must be double-spaced including the title page, abstract, text, quotes, acknowledgments, references, and appendices.
  • Use Times New Roman 12 point font.
  • Articles should be no longer than 20 pages.
  • The cover page should list author's name(s), affiliation(s), address (es), telephone number(s), and electronic mail address (es).
  • The second page must include a 100 to 150 word abstract.
  • Place tables on separate pages and number all pages consecutively.
  • In text citations and reference entries must follow The American Psychological Association (APA) format.
  • Please submit a total of 3 manuscript copies.
  • Prepare 2 of those manuscripts for peer review by removing all references to the author(s).
  • The editors request that articles be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format to itupale@cambridgetoafrica.org. We do not accept hard copies.

Peer Review of Manuscripts

Manuscripts will be anonymously peer-reviewed by two reviewers appropriate for the topic and content of the article submitted. The editor will maintain the anonymity of the author(s) and reviewers during the review process (normally three to four months).
