An introduction to the work Cambridge to Africa carries out in the UK, Uganda and Ethiopia, with a focus on our global community link with Child Africa International.

Title: Rwanda after the Genocide: The Exemplar State?

In 1994 an estimated 800,000 Rwandans were killed in the space of 100 days. Today, 16 years later, Rwanda tries  to represent the image of a modern country. This presentation examines the facade behind the state; where social inclusion, reconciliation and liberty are still not guaranteed.

Title: Child Africa International: Facts from the field

This presentation focuses on the work of Child Africa International (CA), a Ugandan NGO tackling the everyday issues of poverty and disease faced by orphaned children in sub-Saharan Africa. It will set out why CA was founded, key case studies from our work in the field, and lessons learnt from 18 years operating at the grassroots level.
